Zinnia

OVERVIEW

Zinnia is an insurtech company focused on modernizing the life insurance industry by providing innovative, consumer-first solutions.

As a Graphic Designer on the marketing team, I was responsible for shaping and maintaining the brand’s visual identity across a wide variety of touchpoints. My work spanned presentation decks, whitepapers, social media content, infographics, internal communications, and branded collateral. I also led multiple brand exploration initiatives and developed interim brand guidelines to streamline visual consistency across teams.

In addition to concepting and executing design work, I collaborated directly with C-level leadership, product marketing, and content strategists to align visuals with business goals and strategic messaging. Many of these projects required translating complex or technical information into engaging, accessible visuals for both internal and external audiences.

This page features a curated selection of projects I worked on—most of which I led from initial concept to final delivery.

Thrive: Career Planning Guide

The Thrive: Career Planning Guide e-booklet was developed as a strategic resource to help employees reflect on their strengths, set career goals, and map out their professional growth within the company.

I led both the creative direction and art direction for this project, conceptualizing the guide’s structure, naming it, and designing all visual elements to ensure a cohesive and engaging user experience. I also introduced the idea of dividing the guide into distinct sections—Reflection, Career, and Skills Planning—to provide employees with a clear, actionable journey.I worked closely with internal stakeholders to align the guide with Zinnia’s brand identity while incorporating thoughtful layouts, clear information hierarchy, and interactive elements that facilitated meaningful career conversations.

Beyond its initial purpose, the Thrive: Career Planning Guide became an integral tool in Zinnia’s performance review process, helping managers and employees navigate development discussions with clarity. It also served as a foundation for integrating career growth planning into Dayforce, Zinnia’s HR system, further solidifying its impact across the organization.

ZinniaChat Logo Icon

ZinniaChat is a self-service AI assistant designed to support insurance agents and enhance the customer experience by responding to requests through both chat and voice interfaces. Drawing from ingested data and systems of record, ZinniaChat delivers tailored support, streamlines operations, and modernizes communication across the insurance landscape.

I created the icon mark featured in the ZinniaChat logo—a stylized spark symbol that reflects the product’s AI-powered responsiveness and digital precision. The minimal form was crafted to align with Zinnia’s existing brand identity, particularly the typographic treatment of its primary logo. This is especially evident in the rounded corners of the spark, which mirror those in the wordmark and create a cohesive visual language. The wordmark was designed by Michael Gray, and the full logo was developed specifically for the product’s launch.
